November 11, 2006:

A few days have passed, but I'm still awestruck by the incredible birthday gift from my fellow alumni. What a crazy, beautiful, thoughtful group of people you are! I'll be thanking each of you individually, just as soon as I remember how to write with pen and paper.

November 5, 2006:

A few days ago I sent out an invitation to class members not in the Yahoo group to view the Virtual Reunion site. There has been a lot of traffic through the jump-off page since then, so I hope that means that folks have been enjoying the wiki pages over there. There is a total of 40+ profiles on the VR site, which already includes a new survey entry (Meredith Davis) from the new group. I am missing e-mail addresses for about 30 more alumni; perhaps you can help me find them.

! Don't miss the full moon tonight. It's the Hunter's Moon.

September 21, 2006:

The private Virtual Reunion site has officially launched! It's about time. Just 'cause I don't write much doesn't mean I ain't busy. Finally got the bulk of the VR set up after weeks of tweaking and scanning and futzing and throwing my back out. Well, that had nothing to do with working on the Virtual Reunion, except that sitting in front of a computer screen for hours on end is the worst way to treat a bad back. I posted the announcement to the Yahoo! group a little after 1AM; it's off to bed and we'll see what people have to say about it tomorrow.

July 30, 2006:

Do over! My e-mail and domain server are working again. Now I can let everybody know that it's time repeat the survey process, thanks to the server's wardrobe malfunction. Joy! Rapture! I'm certain that everyone submitted their survey responses the first time around and that everyone will gladly give it another go. There's a short list of respondents that shows whose entries survived the purge. Hopefully, this will quickly expand to include everyone in our class. It's more fun the more people participate.

July 18, 2006:

The long-awaited Virtual Reunion kickoff is, um... about to kick off. It starts with taking the survey and continues with, um... submitting the survey. Do I seem uncertain? Perhaps I can't believe that I'm finally getting around to this.

June 21, 2006:

Summer's here and I still haven't uploaded any reunion photos. Here's one to begin with, since Laura Auricchio asked for it specifically.

June 13, 2006:

Thanks to Christine Quiñones for the list of attendees for all three reunion events. Her OCD rivals my own.

June 12, 2006:

The reunion continues! I have so little time to do the things that I'm supposed to be doing, but my guilty pleasure is reading through all of the thoughtful and heartfelt messages that continue to be posted to the HCHS86 listserve. These people! You all are my Oprah.

June 4, 2006:

June 2, 2006:

Tomorrow's picnic plans have been washed out by the weather forecast. We will instead be meeting at Dallas BBQ on Third Avenue between 72nd & 73rd Streets. If the weather clears, the group may move to the original park location after BBQ. The restaurant phone number is (212) 772-9393.

May 25, 2006:

The hchs86 wiki website will have a use after all. We can all use it to upload our information for the Virtual Reunion. Official details coming this weekend.

May 23, 2006:

I'm impressed with the results of the Hunterite hunt. Nearly half of our missing classmates have been located this week. Special mention to Keith Gilman, who must have his own Hunter version of Cerebro working overtime, for gathering nearly half of those contacts. Let's keep the momentum and bring everybody home.

May 18, 2006:

Everyone is encouraged to refer to the current list of missing class members and have a go at those unturned stones.

May 17, 2006:

Wow, I've been gone a while. Time to announce the wiki? The virtual reunion details? Give me another minute...

May 9, 2006:

Happy birthday, Linda! Thanks for sharing your birthday with Roman.

May 5, 2006:

Happy birthday, Carol! And happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone else. Has everyone gotten their invitations yet? Check out the Polls section for the group to RSVP by multiple choice and then check out the calendar to view/add important dates.

May 1, 2006:

It's in the mail! Your full-color invitation should be finding its way to you soon. As soon as you receive it, you will be compelled to RSVP in the affirmative -- or weep for the missed opportunity.

April 28, 2006:

The official invitation is ready to go and will appear in mailboxes the first week of May. The bar/lounge portion of the reunion weekend will take place at Onieal's in Little Italy. Thanks to Carol, Andy, Candido and everyone else who recommended locations. The Central Park picnic will be held on the Dene Lawn in Central Park. You've been there; you just didn't know its name. It's on the east side, north of the children's zoo and south of the boathouse. Thanks to Danny for securing the permit.

April 25, 2006:

Now that all the major reunion decisions have been made, should I share them with the group? Will they be able to responsibly wield the power that such knowledge confers on them? Damn, another decision...

April 22, 2006:

Just finished the final pub crawl in search of the appropriate nighttime reunion location. Official announcement will be made late next week. Thanks to everyone who submitted suggestions and recommendations.

April 19, 2006:

There has been an adjustment to the contact info referenced in yesterday's posting to the e-group. Obviously, I am no longer accessible by tram.

April 17, 2006:

I am volunteering to be the coordinator for this year's class-only reunion on June 3. Do you have: Questions? Suggestions? Requests?

Important information is always withheld for your anticipatory pleasure!
